According to General Department of Customs, in 2016, there were 73,170 enterprises operating in the field of import-export, a total value of 9.8 million VND of Customs declarations, and total value of export turnover is $US 350.69 billion.
Thus, the above indicators showed a strong growth compared to 10 years ago, in that the number of enterprises increased by nearly 2.6 times.

According to the Customs Newspaper report, in 2007, the country had 33, 290 new enterprises operating in the field of import-export, the total amount of the Customs declaration was 2,871 million sets, a total value of export turnover was $US 111.24 billion.
In particular, the significant point of the country's export activities in the last 10 years can be listed as, in terms of turnover value in 2007, our country's first hit exceeded $US 100 billion (reached $US 111.24 billion), by 2011 this index set markers $US 200 billion (reached $US 203.66 billion in whole year), and in 2015 the total value of exports and imports of our country exceeded $US 300 billion (reached $327,59 billion).
In one decade, the only year in which our country's import and export value decreased compared to the preceding year is 2009. In 2009, total value of export turnover reached only $US 127.04 billion, down $US 16, 36 billion compared with 2008.
