Some Vietnamese fruits including bananas and lychees have higher prices in foreign countries than those in Vietnam

They should meet high standards and experience strict inspection procedures to receive licenses which allow for export to Japan and Thailand.

In Japan, 12 Vietnamese lychees cost US$18.18 (VND400,000).

In Vietnam, a kilogram of lychees costs US$1.36-1.81 (VND30,000-40,000).

Luc Ngan’s lychees from Bac Giang province are famous all around Vietnam.

Vietnamese lychees are also exported to Thailand.

In Japan, a Vietnamese mango is worth US$4.54 (VND100,000). In Vietnam, a kilogram of mango is valued at US$1.59 (VND35,000).

Vietnamese companies have recently been licensed to export dragon fruit to Japan.

In Japan, Vietnamese dragon fruit costs US$8.18-9.09 (VND180,000-200,000) per kilogram. In Vietnam, dragon fruit is worth US$0.9 (VND20,000) per kilogram.

Vietnamese companies have recently got licenses to export bananas to Japan. Vietnamese bananas will soon be sold at the Don Kihote supermarket chain.
